This program enables wifi-tethering for "rooted" handsets.
Clients (your laptop for example) can connect via wifi and get access to the internet using the mobile connection (4G, 3G, 2G) of your phone.
Wifi-tethering creates a so called adhoc (peer-to-peer) network on most devices.
Infrastructure-mode is suppported for a large set of devices.
PREREQUISITE
- Root
- Netfilter-enabled kernel (most stock-kernel nowadays come with such a kernel).

- ) Widget-support. One-click enabling/disabling from your home-screen.
- ) Disable tethering after a configurable idle-time.
- ) Access-control feature. Allow/deny clients to use your mobile-data connection.
- ) Wifi-Encrytion. 128-bit WEP in general (adhoc). WPA/WPA2 on supported devices (infrastructure-mode).

TROUBLESHOOTING
- ) On HTC devices with stock rom it's required to enable "Routing fix" from app-settings.
- ) If only certain websites can be opened you might have to enable "MSS Clamping" in app-settings.
- ) If you notice reboots or if the wifi-interface is unusable after tethering UNCHECK the "Force wifi-driver reload"-option in app-setting.

- I'd been using a Wired Tether app off Google Code but it stopped working when I Flashed the Rooted Stock Srpint ICS ROM so I switched back to this. It works fine. You just have to know what you're doing when you set it up like with anything else. * Install * Select Samsung Epic Touch 4G profile * Enable Routing Fix * Enable Access Control * Set your password if you want encryption(You Should) * Start the Tether * Connect to it on your device(Computer or what have you) * Open the Access Control and select your device and hit apply From now on you shouldn't need to touch any part of the settings. Just start fallow the last three steps for new devices or for old already access granted devices just connect and go. Simple really. No less complex then setting up a router.
- I have the hotspot on my plan and still use this app because onboard hotspot disables data usage on the phone. This lets me be tethered and still use my phone to full functionality. I love the widget switch, 1 tap and I'm online. I also like how it shows you how much data was used that session. Only bug I got is it turns off but the message saying it's turning off won't go away until I force close the app. This app also triggers the bug with Galaxy S 2 where it'll use more battery than the charger can give.
- UPDATE: solution! Must reroot the SGS2 and install new driver. This application works like a charm again. After the Android update a couple days ago this app quit working on my rooted SGS2. It was working beautifully until then. Anyone know how to fix an error saying "unknown state"? Any help would be thankful. update: I tried to Change profile, manual setup, and an older version of wifi tether; still does not work any more..
- Since my days on the original Motorola Droid, I have used this developer's app. Back then, you had to do research to find out which version of the app worked with whichever version device you were using. This app has come a LONG way, and it's fantastic! Show your support for someone who's given us free WiFi Tether for YEARS. Thank you!
- I use a samsung replenish on the sprint network. Anyone on sprint can tell you how hard hotspot and tethering can be. I rooted my phone and this is the only app that has done the job. Braavo. Easy to use, sets up automatically, easy on the battery. DO NOT CHANGE A THING. No updates guys, if it ain't broke... don't fix it.
- All I had to do was go in settings change my device type to Gs3 and tada.... Instant Internet access on my laptop and tablet. It shows all data being used - downloads uploads and even the speed at which data is being transferred. It is a must have app for rooted devices. Makes my Gs3 more like a supercomputer
- Verizon galaxy nexus. Rooted. Unlocked boot loader. 4.1.1 jellybean factory ROM. Foxfi and other tether apps stopped working under jellybean. I can confirm This app works perfectly. Has a great user interface. And many more options than other tether apps. Importantly WPA encryption.
- GS3 owners, make sure you install a costume Rom . Stock Rom fights it. Free GS3 Rom works great with this WiFi tether. In settIngs ,Change ID to Generic . Check MSS clamping , and check routing fix . On just 3g speed I was giving my iPad on average speeds of 10 mbps
- At first I thought this app was useless but as soon as I saw other reviews on how to work it, it turned AMAZING! I tethered connection onto my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and it works perfectly! LG Connect 4G (Settings: LG Optimus S & Softap[master])
- Unfortunately my friend has lost his Internet and only owning a desktop computer can't go to cafes. I was able to launch this to help him fill out applications and try to get him a new job to help with his Internet troubles.
