WiFi Status Bar Switch
WiFi Status Bar Switch toggles WiFi on/off.
The switch is placed in the status bar for easy access from other applications. You can also use it as a widget-like shortcut on your home screen.
When connected, the network's SSID is displayed after the title in the notification and if WiFi is on but not connected to a network, an icon is shown in the status bar.
ICS users: There is no way to sort the status bar icons like on previous Android versions. That means that there will sometimes be a blank icon in the status bar before other notifications. Fixed in Jelly Bean.

- I have tried vry many different wifi related applications that could control the wifi connection without draining the battery too quickly. Some that depended on tower locations or gps settings were just not suitable for the purpose. Very often I would start a messaging application and then find that the wifi was not on. Going back to switch on the wifi inevitably resulted in rewriting the whole message which is a big pain. I am from the old digital diary era and a thumb typist. Touch typing is not my thimg.This application allows me to turn on / off wifi and returns me exactly where I am in my messaging application. Problem solved.

And as an added Bonus - Dynamically Auto connects to strongest AP I was looking for an app that would auto connect to the strongest signal AP in my home as I move from room to room (I currently have 2 + a guest one). I couldn't find one so I chose this app so I could easily switch networks/APs quickly. I've only had it for a day and it works perfectly! As an added BONUS it appears to actually switch to the strongest wifi signal network automatically!!! It really is exactly what I needed. Excellent. Thank you. Samsung galaxy nexus.

- I connect and disconnect to Wifi networks all day, so it is a great help to be able to do so no matter which ADW desktop screen I am on - and even AFTER you have started an app and forgotten to start Wifi first!
