What is the Meaning of Life?
What quality sets humans apart from other living things? The answer is curiosity. Humans can actually ponder on their existence. When a porcupine looks up at the night sky, that porcupine doesn't wonder if there are other porcupines out there in the universe. That porcupine doesn't mind that it doesn't know the very reason it was placed on this planet.
Humans, on the other hand, have been searching for thousands of years to discover the meaning of life. Ever since the first humans, man has been thinking of the answer of the meaning of life. Cultures everywhere from Buddhist monks to Ancient Greek philosophers have spent centuries thinking of the answer to the Meaning of Life.
In contrast, many "lazy" philosophers have simply put the Meaning of Life into a number. Most of these numbers are two digit numbers, for some odd reason. This app, creatively named What is the Meaning of Life, simply chooses a random number between 0-99 and calls that the Meaning of Life.
Mind you, this app is not a joke. In fact, it is the opposite. This app was made to spotlight the laziness of these people who simply answer such a complex question in a single number. If a cellular telephone (aka: cell phone) can answer the Meaning of Life by just picking random numbers, shouldn't humans be a little smarter than that?
Humans are the deepest thinkers in the universe we found so far. All humans should embrace this fact and at least ponder the meaning of our existence for a few moments. All humans do not necessarily have to be the next Aristotle, but at least all humans are smarter than porcupines and this smartphone app.
