TrailTracker Trial
TrailTracker allows your friends and family to track your live GPS position while you are out cycling, hiking, walking, horse riding, running, etc.
What makes this app different from others is you control the interval at which the coordinates are sent. For example, if you were to go hiking for a few days, you could run this app with a high interval time, so the GPS will only be updating periodically and not constantly running, therefore conserving your battery life and reducing the need to charge your phone.
I've also developed the application to be as "lightweight" as possible. It is less than 100kb when installed (trial version is slightly larger), sends small amounts of data over the network, and most importantly, don’t expect to see any annoying advert popups.
All data to and from your mobile is sent over the https (Secure Socket) connection, so no need to worry that others can snoop on your trails. All trails are identifiable with a ten character unique trail key and are not publically listed on the TrailTracker website. You have complete control over who can see your trails by sharing them on Facebook, Twitter, Email, Text Message, etc, and by logging on to the website you can maintain all trails associated with your registered details.
The application stores your coordinates in a remote database and unfortunately my hosting is not free. All I ask is a small contribution to cover my hosting costs to keep clear from the need for advertising.

This is the trial version. It does almost everything the full version does except: Minimum interval time is 15 minutes; Application is preregistered therefore you are unable to maintain your trails online; You are unable to remove the registered details; Trail category is limited to Cycling and Walking; Trails older than 30 days will be deleted to help keep the size of the database to a minimum.
