- I've tried Talkatone and a few other similar apps and so far Talkatone is my favorite. I have used it on both an IPod 3g and this Samsung Galaxy 7.7 to make them function like a phone. I have no problems using either for texting or calling. To the user who has to reinstall due to the blank screen problem, try ending the program from your task manager or restarting your device. Mine did that once or twice on here but hasn't in a while. Never uninstalled and reinstalled. To the user who mentioned the screen was upside down, there is a setting for that. I think it's intentional because the microphone on some devices is on the top and speakers are on the bottom.
- I have been using this since a few days , and even though the call quality is not very clear initially when the call begins, it works really well. I have used it only on wifi till now but soon will be using it on Tmobile 4g, and will write the review then. I have used GrooVeIP as well but it kept getting force closed as soon as i answered a call. No problem of that sort with Talkatone. It would be a better app if the User interface was a bit more fast and better looking. Hope that would come soon with the new updates!
- This App is the first app that was worth signing up for google+ just to give this app the props it deserved! This app is another piece of my puzzle which is title "Great Things To Come!" Sometimes when using the app to do my texting, it sends from a number that isn't my google voice number..
- Works great on my phone and Nexus 7 tablet. Also use it on a previous Android phone that no longer has phone service. This allows me to use my old Android phone over WiFi for a second phone line at home for free. Voice quality is good and I have no problem with it dropping connections. Once I signed in on my Google account it automatically had my contact list from my phone. On my Nexus 7 tablet calls are good and this at times comes in handy.
- I really love the app. Great work. It seems to work so much better than Tablet Talk and some other apps that you will find. It let's me text and call from my wifi only tablet. Thrilled that I can now use my keyboard folio and text very fast using my GV account number. Thanks again for a great app.
- Can make & receive phone calls plus send & receive txt msgs. Can be done over a Wi-Fi or 3g connection. Have to finish set up over pc but other than that this works great for people like me who are needing a few extra days until I can pay my phone bill.
- So far I'm really impressed, this app does exactly what it says it does. the call quality on 3g is very good. And the fact it completely works as a phone both calling and receiving calls makes it an amazing app. Highly recommended. Tested on Evo V.
- Using this you can call the US for free from anywhere in the world, Using only data/wifi. You can turn off the annoying default gTalk status message via: Menu->Settings->myemail@gmail.com->"Message" in the status section.
- I might get the Talkatone Premium app, but I'm wondering if the better phone call quality would use up more data. This app is excellent, I have it set up to ring my home phone and my tablet. It's the greatest! Thank you!
