[root] Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock

This program finds the SIM unlock code for your Samsung Galaxy S II (SGS2) GT-I9100 device. It requires root / superuser.

Simply install the app, hit the "SIM unlock code" button, wait a few minutes, and it should come up with the code. It can indeed take a while, so plug your phone in the charger before running, and go make yourself a cup of coffee.

!!! IMPORTANT NOTE: On some newer SGS2 devices, it does not work at all. You can try "Galaxy_S Unlock" app from "Helroz", but beware, it's unlock method is much more dangerous !!!

Write down the code, turn off your device, insert a SIM that doesn't match your SIM lock, turn the device on again, and enter the code when the device asks for it.

If the code does not work, do NOT try it again. You might end up with a freeze. The app can also find the unfreeze code, but if the SIM unlock code was wrong ... :)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Sometimes it says the unlock was unsuccessful. However after a reboot you may still find yourself unlocked. So try rebooting first and actually TESTING if the device is locked or unlocked :)

  • Worked like a charm, I managed to unlock my phone from the first try, although the first run froze my phone, because I received a phone call while the program was running. Be sure to not receive phone calls. If so, reboot the phone and try again.
  • It worked !!! Provided same code as carrier which had never worked. But then typed the unfreeze code followed by unlocking code and it worked... So maybe you should take off the sentence in the description that states the opposite
  • The app did not work for me but I used another method from the forum and now my phone is unlocked. if the app does not work for you check out xda dev forum and find another way on the forum all you will need is a rooted phone
  • I am running CF-Root v5.4 CWM5 (LPQ) kernel and also the DarkyROM (LPQ) This does not work for me on my 3 Network locked Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100). I should of tried this on GB but i didn't. Great app neither the less.
  • Great app.. But it does not work on the US version on the Tmobile galaxy S2... But I did call Tmobile U.S... And they gave me the unlock code anyway.
  • This worked perfectly on my orange locked gs2. Under a minute to calculate the unlock key and another few seconds to calculate the unfreeze key.
