Retro Clock Widget
Retro Clock Widget was one of the first clock widgets available for android and has been downloaded by millions of users over the years. Version 2.0 brings many improvements, while keeping the simplicity that made it famous.
This app provides a home screen clock and date widget based on the classical mechanical flipping clock. The widgets act as shortcuts to the systems alarm clock and calendar applications.
When you want to customize the look and feel (like the colors, transparency, or shortcut applications), you can do so using the Retro Clock Settings companion app also available on Google Play.
To use the widget on Android 4.0+:
- open the app drawer
- tap the "Widgets" tab
- find Retro Clock / Date and drag it to the home screen
To use the widget on older versions of android:
- long press an empty spot on the home screen
- select "Widgets"
- tap on Retro Clock / Date to add it to the home screen

- Keep coming back and installing on devices as others don't have the same appeal. Yes, I agree that it would be nice to alter colour/size/launch & style etc but to enjoy a better alarm/clock app at 16kb? Carry on looking for something as fresh as this and you'll prob have to make it yourself matey! Perfect for me. Bigger isn't always better..
- Used it since 2010 on Galaxy S, Nexus S, and Galaxy Nexus. Works flawlessly, tap on the clock opens alarm options, tap on the date opens calendar. Logical and awesome. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a clock app.
- Simple clock only widget. Complements your favourite weather app (so hard to find a clock that doesn't have weather attached!) Clock links to alarm. Date links to calendar. Nice and simple!
- Retro Date opens the newly available Google Calendar with a touch of the widget. The dev pointed out that a reboot is required after installing GC on a Galaxy Note. Wonderful. What a guy!
- It is classy looking , good size , one of the best widgets I have . what more would u want , I suggest u install it , no issues on my nexus 7 .
- Best clock / date widget at android world.. No ads no battery drain no permission very clean and simple highly recommended.
- I cannot figure out his to adjust clock for daylight savings. Live the widget but nit usable at the moment. Please help.
- This is what I want. Unlike others, this app gives correct time for my defy+. Gonna get 5+ if having more layouts.
