PhotoCrypt allows you to take pictures from your device easy and safely. The pictures taken through PhotoCrypt are automaticaly protected and saved with a previously user-defined password. This protection is provided by an encryption algorithm called Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), which is the current encryption standard adopted by the U.S government. This way, only the user who knows the password is able to access the protected pictures. PhotoCrypt has a friendly interface that allows you to authenticate, list, protect, unproctect, delete, view and send pictures to your Dropbox account.

Let's give a practical exemple. Imagine you go on a honey moon trip and, during this trip, you decide to record intimate moments through PhotoCrypt. Now suppose you lose you cellphone and somebody else find it. This person cannot see your pictures (taken through PhotoCrypt) because he or she won't know the password to authenticate. Even if he or she tries to open the picture using another software, like Windows Explorer (or any other), because your pictures are protected by the encryption algorithm. Data recovery software are also unable to open the pictures if those pitctures weren't unprotected by the user. This happens because PhotoCrypt first encrypt, then save it to the disk.

The best thing of this application is that it takes pictures already encrypted. Most of the applications only try to hide pre-existent pictures in your device and that doesn't guarantee those pictures won't be found by another person if you lose your device.

This new version allows you to upload your photos protected or unprotected to your Dropbox account. Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. Thus, besides you store your photos in a safe place on the Internet, since Dropbox contains an authentication mechanism, you have another layer of security when sending your encrypted photos to Dropbox. Later you can download them to your home computer and use Desktop PhotoCrypt to view them (decrypt them).
