PhatPad

PhatPad is a note-taking and collaboration app featuring PhatWare’s proven handwriting recognition technology. More than just a note-taking app, PhatPad turns practically any Android Tablet or Smartphone into an advanced brainstorming tool by enabling users to draw, write, and type on the Android device, then instantly share ideas via email or sync their documents with Dropbox. PhatPad supports most Android Smartphones and Tablets and is especially useful on pen-enabled Android Tablets, such as Samsung Galaxy Note, HTC Jetstream and others.

PhatPad offers everything you need to express your ideas, enabling you to draw pictures, jot notes, or put a mixture of drawings, images, handwritten and typed text on a virtual scratch pad. The included handwriting recognition engine automatically converts your handwritten notes into digital text, and PhatPad even takes objects you scribble and translates them to perfectly formed shapes.

PhatPad's key features include:

  • Smooth-flowing digital ink technology which lets Android Tablet users scribble notes as if they are writing on real paper
  • The ability to combine drawing, handwritten text, images, and digital text on the same document page as well as voice notes to create media-rich content
  • A powerful handwriting recognition engine (for English language, support for more languages coming soon), which automatically converts handwritten notes into text;
  • Voice notes - record, play, and use in presentation mode;
  • PhatPad Document sharing using Dropbox synchronization, email, and direct access via WiFi or Blue Tooth (depending on the Android device);
  • Scroll, Zoom, and variable page size

  • Thought I'd weigh in cause I've been a loyal user for some time. This program is really cool. Glad to see it on android so I can use it there as well. The iPad version works better, though this was nicely ported and is almost 100% comparable, there are a few things that aren't up to snuff just yet, but it's a five star program on iPad and retains that status here as well. The few minor things that work differently are mostly android related and can be better addressed by the developers to ensure continuity. I expect future updates will address these.

  • This is just what I was looking for. I do technical assessments ant snapping a picture, scribbling a note and filing it away has just gotten a lot easier with PhatPad. Keep up the improvements. I would like to see the ability to use a form as the paper that I can import.
