- Loading maps for offline use is very easy, and doesn't require a PC. It records my route and can even calculate routes (network required while calculating.) It continues to record the route when the display is off. I was using it 'just for fun' while heading on a trip, as the driver knew the way. However, we ran into a closed road with no obvious detour. With Locus I found the best alternate route and was able to confirm we were headed in the right direction! That was very handy! It can be a bit confusing to use though. The only bug: After exiting the app and shutting the phone down to save battery, the next day after rebooting and opening Locus, I could not save my location. It also failed to save a 'test' route, discarding it instead. It simply said (almost too briefly to read) that there was 'an error'. It may be I launched it too soon after the phone rebooted. I rebooted again, this time waiting a few minutes, and it worked OK. This needs to be looked into so someone doesn't record a route for a couple hours, only to lose it when trying to save it. Until then, I suggest saving a location to make sure it's OK, before beginning a route.
- I was quite sceptical when I downloaded this app, expecting to find limited functionality in the Free mode. I was very surprised though with how much usage it gave you without bugging you every few seconds to buy it. I was able to record tracks, alter POI icons and record numerous POI and then export them in various formats. So far I have only tried exporting in KML mode, which opens it up with Google earth. From there, you have a full view of your track, your POI you recorded in all sorts of viewing modes Google earth offers to you..! My idea is to export this map with my tracks, by other screen capture or other options I am sure Google earth offers..! I am definitely buying the full version of this..!! A big thanks to the developers....
- Locus nu een maand gebruikt. Perfect gedetailleerde kaarten op mijn Samsung Galaxy Note. Ook kaarten met de fietsknooppunten. Het is mogelijk om kaarten van te voren via Wifi te pre-loaden. Dus ook bruikbaar als je geen wifi of dure dataverbinding hebt in het buitenland. Tracking functies werkt uitstekend. Draait zeker 10 uur op een acculading. Dat is voldoende voor een dagwandeling of lange fietstocht. Vastgelegd track kun je eenvoudig uploaden naar je eigen e-mail adres.
- Ik heb deze Apple gebruikt met de geo get database add-on. Via gel behaalt toepassing op PC geocache informatie binnen gehaald. De database op de tablet gezet. De installatie stappen gevolgd en op die manier onderweg goed kunnen geocachen ook als ik geen internet tot mijn beschikking had.
- This application is great. Accurate and full of useful features. I used to use Oruxmaps, but Locus handles POIs better, which is important to frequent travelers like me.
- I especially like the Open Street Map hiking map for the Netherlands. Maps are accurate and up-to-date, even in forest areas. And you can download them for free!
- An excellent program. Has so many useful functions that it is already somewhat difficult to set up and use, but it still has no equal.
- From geo caching to bread crumbs, and so much to explore, this app. is incredible.
- Even wennen waar alles zit, maar functioneert prima. Goede uitgebreide app.
