- I've used a spreadsheet for the last three years to do only some of what this app can do. I had pondered writing an app and this app does almost everything my brainstorming list had on it. There are a few tweaks that could make it a tad better, but its so good I'll use it as is and help with development by making suggestions and donations. This is more powerful than most paid apps. Worth noting: this can be used for basic tasks and by novices, however it's really more geared towards power users. To truly appreciate what this does takes a bit of time, but is well worth it. As other reviewers have mentioned, with time, the ability to stock (= space), a little planning, and this app, you can save a ton of money on groceries. Properly used, this app can deliver more savings much easier.
- just sent the developer an email with some suggestions for the app, asking for questions and letting him know that I would gladly buy a Pro versions should it become available and he promptly replied! He answered my questions and mentioned that since Grocery-Tracker is free he has been working on it in his spare time. He also mentioned that he had added a "Donate" button to his web site over a year ago, but have not yet received very many donations, so the funds just aren't there to do much further programming. Let's show this guy our support! If everyone who is using this app would donated just $1.00, we all would see this app improve! (and no he did not offer to pay me to post this, I just like helping small businesses!)
- Just started placing recipes in the app. It takes a bit of time up front but all others apps were similar in time spend initially. What is app does is takes the times in the receipe checks the inventory and places items in the shopping list. You do have to make sure everything is link and synced together but I love this app. It has made shopping so much better for me, has stopped me from purchasing duplicate itmes I already have but didn't realize it. This is a wonderful app. Time spend is very well worth the effort to me. Have told many of my friends about this app and it's usefullness. DMJ
- I agree with previous poster - a recipe import would make it perfect. I asked the developer (who is amazingly, super responsive) and he carefully explained how to import using a text file. Works great when importing several recipes but a bit fiddly when only doing one. Still - my goal is to make meal plans, create a shopping list, easily keep track of whether I am out of dry mustard and know whether that is a good price for almonds. This little app does it wonderfully. Agree with others a that a small donation would surely encourage the developer!
- This app is OVER THE TOP GREAT! It has a food inventory to help prevent getting duplicate items, A SUPER powerful grocery app that is FLEXIBLE, friendly and POWERFUL! You should not try to learn this app on the fly. It has so many features you should watch the tutorial and practice first. In under an hour ( after watching the video) I had my grocery store, Walmart, home depot, Lowes and more, all with JUST THE PRODUCTS WE USE! Seriously, this is the REAL DEAL! The BEST app I ever bought!
- So easy to use and has everything you really need. This makes shopping day a breeze and keeps my kitchen organized. As one who cooks from scratch, I need to know my grain levels and proper inventory so I am not stuck without in the middle of a recipe. With so many options in New York city for shopping, this keeps me in the stores with the best prices for what I needs. And of course, allows me to price match against my on-line stores. Keep up the great app.
- I love this app. I use it all the time, mostly for the inventory side, which is very thorough and allows me to do everything I want. I plan to use the grocery list part more in the future, but for now I'm enjoying that I can see what's in my chest freezer without digging!
- I like how this program allows you to backup all your data. Most of the others don't have this feature. Also the program is very user friendly. This is my favorite grocery program.
- Does exactly what its supposed to do, you can even set the tax rate for those non grocery items so you know exactly what its going to cost at the front of the store.
- This is almost Perfect! Only thing that could make it better is the ability to add recipes and meal plans from a computer. I'd definitely pay for that.
