Droid NAS
Droid NAS allows you to share folders over a Wi-Fi network, making your Android device visible as a Bonjour computer in Finder on your Mac. Turn your phone or tablet into a wireless flash drive with a single tap!
Different profiles can be used to quickly choose which folders to share. Assign your home or office Wi-Fi networks to profiles and Droid NAS will auto-select profiles on start.
You can additionally share any folder on your device (including external SD cards) or remove unnecessary shares. Just tap and hold on the list of shares.
Supported systems
- Mac OS X.
- Android: apps like ES File Explorer, Solid Explorer, GTVBox Video Player.
- Windows is NOT supported because it can't connect to SMB servers via a non-standard port.
- Linux most probably also won't work.

- This app became available for Google TV last week. I tried it out. But, it wasn't that useful, because on Google TV all the areas published as shares by the app (SDCard, Music, Photos, Downloads and Camera) exist only in Google TV's main memory - a fairly limited resource. So, I wrote the developer with my concern. He said he would add the ability to edit the shares in the next version. Here we are less than a week later and it is done and published. Hold down the "OK" key on the Google TV keyboard while configuring one of the existing shares and you can create a custom share. I set one up for the 32 GB memory stick plugged into the USB port (found at /mnt/media/). I started the share and seconds later the share appeared in the Mac's Finder. I quickly copied a 367MB file from the MacMini (in about 30 seconds) to the Revue's USB stick. GTVBox was able to find and play the movie flawlessly. Thanks, Oleg!
- I been looking everywhere for a solution to sync my files and sd card on my mac, but nothing seems to be working on my mac. I tried kies, syncmate, and android transfer and none of them could recognize my device. This app is perfect, it recognized my device and now I can transfer all my files to my internal sd card and external sd card drives. At first, I had trouble accessing my external sd card, but I found that you can easily add any folder that you want to explore through this app by adding the file path. I added my external drive folder and now I can access it easily on my Samsung galaxy reverb. I spend hours on other useless apps but this app is perfect for a mac user like me that been trying to sync their samsung galaxy phones.
- This app works flawlessly on my gsm gnex running 4.1.1 and I'm enjoying the Mac-clusivity too! You PC users are not used to dealing with what we Mac users went through all through the 90's when everything was pc-centric, lol! (I love macs AND Android!) Two thing Droid NAS really needs though: • Password protection so your neighbors can't get into your phone • A keep awake function. Transfers stop when my screen goes dark. (They continue their transfer as soon as I wake my screen, however) I'm looking forward to this feature in the next update but really can't give this app any less than FIVE stars!
- Absolutely wonderful app. Just. Plain. Works. I found that Ghost Explorer needed to be told the domain of the workgroup in order to work, so I gave it the domain of my NAT workgroup, and all was fine. This app will come in so useful when I'm round at a pal's place as he's all Macced up. We've forever had problems transferring files.
- ... And it's all it needs to do. A password protection and a widget to turn on and off the server could be some nice improvements. It's definitely a 5 stars and a must have if you're a Mac owner. Thanks!
- Has made copying content to and from my Galaxy S2 so simple. Only started working after ICS upgrade. Indispensable for users like me that have a Mac and an Android phone.
- Since the Galaxy S3 and Mac are having trouble connecting right now, I thought I would have to keep using my SD Card adapter. This is a live saver!!!
- Installed it, started the server and my phone showed up on my Mac's Finder sidebar. Copied my files across. Done! Great app!
- This app is insanely useful on Google TV, whose builtin FTP support is lacking. Essential download.
