  • I am a home inspector who will be using Dictadroid primarily for audio notes during home inspections. The simplicity of the app is what makes it appealing. I take audio notes while I perform inspections I can't get to the end of an inspection, only to discover that I missed recording some notes because the wrong 'button' was pressed. That is just not an option for me, or my clients. I got this app last night and tried the different settings. It took about 25 minutes and I feel that it will be the perfect tool for me. The ability to send audio files to the cloud, easily, is a thing of beauty. To the poster who said that it stopped recording after 5 minutes....if you go to the bottom right of the app, you will see a small three dot Icon (at least that is what shows on my Galaxy Nexus), tap it and then tap the settings 'dial' icon. On that menu you can set maximum recording time from "1 minute" to "unlimited". Hope that helps. I also had a question last night of Boris regarding the yellow button on the display (insert/overwrite toggle) and Boris had a response waiting in my inbox this morning. Thanks for the great app and great service, Boris. Tim Purtill
  • I searched for a simple 'recorder-type' app through which I would be able to leave myself reminders. I did not see the need for a full blown 'memo' app laden with features, calendars, pages, etc. I bought the app as it is very reasonably priced for the extra features and through all the 'voice recorder' apps I tried, this app is by far the best in recording quality and ease of use, IMO. I emailed the developer for a question I had regarding the app and the developer got back to me within two (2) hours with thorough and concise instructions as well as included a (*.pdf) user's manual attachment. I would not hesitate to recommend this app to anyone. I am using a Verizon Android DROIDX, Version 2.3.3 No issues, no problems, works flawlessly with a great and simple interface. My only suggestion would be for an 'alert - alarm - reminder' that would remind me that I have left myself a message. I need a reminder to alert me that I left a reminder.....
  • I am a Plastic Surgeon and I dictate about 20-30 patient consultations and notes a day for transcription. I just switched from iOS to Android, from an iPhone to the new Galaxy Nexus running ICS. I previously used Dictamus on the iPhone. So, now I am using Dictadroid (0.9.0), an incredible product on the Droid. It lets me do everything, and more, that I would do on a standalone dictaphone, but, of course, I can use the phone I carry with me all the time. It uploads to Dropbox, which makes it incredibly easy for my transcriptionist to receive the files as they are created. With a question, the developer responded the very next day. Dictadroid was the "make or break" app for me and the droid. I'm thrilled with it.
  • I followed the path of testing the Lite, then buying the full version. Worth every single penny! Oftentimes customer service is an afterthought - in my past experience - with apps. Clearly with this app, it's a labor of love and the creator cares that users a) understand how to use it b) get their questions answered and c) have valuable feedback, which does (and should) drive planning for future releases. As a tech industry veteran and power-user of systems and mobile devices, I could not be more pleased with a product. Kudos to Dictadroid. It's easy, powerful and fat-finger ready! Why pay?: Amazing features Easy-to-use controls Quick-responding, articulate, caring, helpful developer Fantastic user guide
  • I am not the guy that leaves reviews...nor usually reads them. This is the most useful app I have purchased and my productivity and that of my colleague has soared. You can dictate, email it to your office or simply send to dropbox. I have found a remote transcriber and emailed the files. Savings works out to be roughly $15 hour for my dictation. The world is getting smaller and a product like this makes it very easy to do work anywhere ( I am an attorney) and have it at your desk when you get in typed. The price is virtually free as well!
  • If you have to dictate much then you will love this app. the recoding/ insert functions work great and the audio is clear on my droid x. I just dictate then dropbox it from within the app and my transcriptionist gets it and does her thing and dropboxes it back for review. only problem is if you hit a button wrong you could jump to the beginning and record over yourself. only happened once, now I pay closer attn. Love this app, don't tell anyone I would pay 20 bucks for this if I had to.
  • I have just purchased this app and found it to be quite useful. It allows me to dictate and save to my dropbox for my admin assistant to transcribe. It would be more useful if I could adjust the settings so that I can save the wave file as 16bit mono so that my Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred program can also help with the transcription. (Developer: Can you add this feature to the next update so that the wav files can be used by Dragon for transcription?). Thanks.
  • I have downloaded a few before Dictadroid. Was not so happy with the amount of background noise on other recorders. Dictadraoid has a nice clean and clear playback. Really easy to use. Great insert/append feature which is great for adding your own notes to a lecture or recording. AMAZING support. Had some questions and was responded to within a couple of hours. Boris is professional and articulate. Great user manual.
  • I downloaded Dictadroid Lite first and was happy with the product so I upgraded to the full version. I have not had any problems with the software - it works very well and records clearly. Due to limited store space on my phone, I often have to transfer the files to my laptop since I always record sound with the highest quality settings. I sent a comment to the developer, Boris, and he responded within four hours!
  • Revision-- Boris was very responsive to questions and I am able to work the app great now. He also advised updates are on the way, such as to speed up the audio so that I can hear audio but at 1.5 to 5 times the speed.
