Cabbage Ultimate
- Send web texts for Meteor, O2, Vodafone, Three, eMobile, Tesco mobile, O2 UK and Telenor Serbia
- Monitor incoming SMS and read and reply through the inbox
- Contact photos are displayed.
- Create contact groups for sending messages to multuiple people
- An option to mark messages as read in the in-built application as they are read in Cabbage
- Send real SMS for numbers that don't work with web text (e.g. 5xxxx numbers) or if web text is not working
- Forward incoming SMS as they arrive to a specified number. The phone must be powered on to use this feature. Notifications of incoming calls can also be sent via text
- A popup to allow quick reply to incoming messages
- Messages and accounts can be exported from Cabbage Lite.
- Long press on a message thread to sent the thread via email
- Long press the send button to temporarily override the default account and send with another account
- Assign a contact to an account so that all messages sent to that contact to be sent using the chosen account
- Add signatures to messages
- A widget that shows the number of unread messages. Note that widgets are disabled if an application is installed on the SD card
Notes
The app requires permission to write APN settings to work around connectivity problems with Vodafone's network.
Vodafone now requires that a 'captcha' image be completed before sending the first text of a session. The image will pop up and can be completed within the app. This should only have to be done once a day
Three customers must register with the Three network's new webtext system at
http://webtexts.three.ie
and update their account in the app with their new pin to continue sending messages

- I've been using this app for well over a year to take advantage of my free webtext allocation, but never bothered to leave a review. Recently Vodafone annoyingly added an extra layer of security to sending webtexts by using a "captcha" image. Cabbage stopped working & I stopped using it.... but now only a few weeks later the developer has worked a solution into the app, which means I can take advantage of my webtexts once again. Awesome work & deserves some serious recognition for his efforts in resolving!!
- live in uk so can send my irish friends free webtexts from old irish number anytime without having to have credit (thank you meteor!) used this for 2 years and only twice time its crashed for a week each, prompt update fixes everything! thanks for helping me keep in touch from abroad!
- I use this in conjunction with my O2 webtexts. I started off with the free version, but for the princely sum of 99c it was worth having the proper integration with my default messaging client inbox. I hardly know where to start. This is SUCH a good idea and works seamlessly.
- Genius developer should be given a job by Vodafone to overhaul their website and services, very quick fix in relation to Vodafone Ireland's best practice security updates.
- Brilliant idea! Works perfect! Maybe should have the option to make it the default messaging app So messages will not be received twice. Still the best 99c i ever spent!
- What can I say, utterly class. Using it a long time & has replaced my stock messenger app. Hope you find a way around o2's next security update this month.
- Works so well I've been able to replace my stock messaging app with it! A longer vibration would help though. I barely feel it vibrate as it is.
- Developer must be raking it in since the Vodafone "security update". Great app though, would be better if it was a bit quicker though.
- Cant send messages trough Vodafone website because of new webtext captcha security. Pity, have to uninstall, found it so useful.
- Brilliant app. With all you can eat data on 3. I can use cabbage for all my texts anywhere and save my units for all my calls
