What you can use the app to do:

Log into over 4 million BT Wi-fi hotspots:

Use the app to log in to any BT Wi-fi hotspot across the UK. When you are in range of a hotspot, connect to BT Wi-fi in your device wi-fi settings. Then simply open the app and you will be automatically taken to the connected screen which will log you in. After you have done this, you can close the app and start using your free, unlimited wi-fi.

Save on your data bills

The BT Wi-fi app ensures you make the most of this free, unlimited service without having to think about it – helping you to avoid running up large mobile data bills.

Find your nearest hotspot

If you’re not in a BT Wi-fi area, the mapping tool will help you find the nearest hotspot, and with new additions to BT Wi-fi all the time, you’ll find it even easier to find places to log on and use your wi-fi.

How to use for the first time:

  1. Download and open the app. Confirm that you are a ‘BT Broadband Customer’, select ‘Set Up Now’ and then type in your BT internet email address and password, accept the terms and conditions if as necessary and click on Activate.
  2. Now your settings are entered you’re ready to connect. By pressing activate, this will automatically take you to the connection screen.
  3. When you are in a BT Wi-fi hotspot for the first time, click on wi-fi Settings on your device, and select BT Wi-fi.
  4. Then, open the BT Wi-fi app and you will automatically be taken to the connect screen and logged in.

How to use subsequently

  1. Please ensure your wi-fi is enabled and you are in range of a hotspot
  2. Connect to BT Wi-fi and just open the app and you will be logged in to start using you free, unlimited wi-fi minutes

Please note: You must be a BT broadband customer to make full use of the services. The application is designed for use at BT Wi-fi, BT Fon and BT Openzone hotspots by BT broadband customers.

  • It's the way Android works. It works down the llist of remembered networks. On my phone in order it's my home network, btfon, btopenzone. When it connects to a network that's where it stays until it loses the signal and then starts at the top again. To change the network go to settngs app - wireless & networks - WiFi settings where the remembered networks are listed. Works great for me.
  • I had this app b4 and deleted it as there was an issue with it disconnecting from my WiFi at home and logging on to bt fon. Just downloaded it tonight again to try it and hey presto it has been fixed. I think the app is ace. Well done to whoever fixed it. I have the posts of those who say its disconnecting if you go to the apps settings you can prioritise the connections.
  • Can't believe how thick some people are! If you are being asked to log in via your browser then your password is wrong in the app! If it's connecting to your home network using the app then goto settings and prioritize network! If it won't exit goto apps and end task! Or go buy an old Nokia cause your a total Tard !!!
  • Streams you tube no worries at all logged on straight away you must have a bt broadband at home and you get free wifi minutes with your the deal . ( you must have bt broadband at home to use this app) and sent this review using this app.So it does work.
  • works well on my moto milestone and logs in bt when i walk about. only i had to untick the alert or else if you walk in big city it will sound every time it fi.ds one...doesnt interfere with autologin my default wifi when i am at work or home.
