Backup to Gmail can help you to backup SMS, MMS and Call log to Gmail labels automatically.
You can also restore SMS and Call log from Gmail to any android device.
Remember to enable IMAP in Gmail and set the correct time/zone.
"communication error..." error message during first connect? Please double check your Gmail account setup.
Some droid X/2 users: due to a timezone bug of motorola's firmware, incoming messages might not be backed up.
XOAuth might not work when you are signed up for 2-step verification. In this case you need to create an application-specific password and enable plain text authentication in preference. Use the username and password you created.

- Won't backup my incoming texts Motorola photon untill I installed a third party app called Go SMS have a emailed developer several times No response until I posted a negative review He finally responded with the above solution. So far that works. I am changing my review because the app itself is great and does exactly what it is supposed and have since realized its my phone and not his app. I just wish he would have responded quicker. the five stars are for the app and not the developers response time. I did pay for this application it was not free..
- I have tried several such apps and this was the best one, it has all the options you would want without any bloat. Had to contact the support team after an issue on my phone and got a resolution in less than a minute... If only all companies had such customer service!
- Awesome app!!! Does EXACTLY was is advertised. This is a must have app for saving texts for court. The email response time for tech questions was exactly 3mins. Cpedia Mobile has their head in the game, and I highly recommend this app.
- Works away in the background without fail. Good if you want to keep historical record of SMS, MMS, call log, for easy search in Google long after items have been deleted from phone. Highly recommended.
- I forgot I even have this app until I search my Gmail and see my messages. Used in conjunction with Gmail labels ensures that you can find old messages easily without having to keep them on your phone.
- Been using it for over a year. I've never had to pay attention to it after I set it up; it just works in the background. Does exactly what it's supposed to do and always works with no problems.
- Prob though. It has a communication error whenever. I try to backup or restore. The 5 !stars is because I have Bern using this app for over a year and never had a problem, until now....
